Rod technology

: Using of a rod instead of a string

a. Place the rod at mid-length and wrap braids around it. Secure braids on rod.

b. Place in hot water for 10 seconds

c. Unwrap braids from rod

Ghanaian Look

To achieve this style you will require 4-5 pieces of Ghanaian or Abuja Hot water braids depending on the amount of hair a client has.

The reason why Braids are and will always be such a big hit hair do is because they are very low maintenance and flexible further more no need for everyday combing.

Creating a braided look:

The first thing you as a stylist or individual should consider is the health of the hair. Timing is very important especially when adding braids to a relaxed style. The best time to get braids is when its time for a new relaxer, which is about 7-8 weeks (2months) into the relaxer because you have natural growth for the braids.

Hair has to be shampooed and deep conditioned (or use a Conditioning Shampoo). Afterward some stylists apply warm almond oil as a hot oil treatment (not a must). As an added plus it is also advised to use a leave-in spray conditioner because it won’t make hair slide (when braiding) and make hair easy to comb.

Hair can then be dried under a hooded dryer for 2-3 minutes to remove excess moisture. Then a blow-dryer is used to elongate and strengthen tresses for braiding.

Some stylists argue that during the braiding process wet strands are enough to bring out a nice look to the finished braids. By using water and braid hair wet as it helps to include all strands of hair. Otherwise hair tends to stand out and isn’t as secure. We recommend a braiding cream to ensure a smooth and easy braiding process.

Darling Braiding Cream

Ounce braiding is complete an oil sheen can be used to complete the beautiful look.

Do you agree with the idea of using water and braid hair wet because it helps to include all strands of hair?

As a stylist have you tried this and can you verify if it works. Please comment on this and may be tell us how you braid, to get that beautiful look for your client.

Ultra Expression look

Prior to applying a weave it is highly recommended you clean hair with shampoo and a conditioner.

It is also important to maintain the condition of your natural hair. Regardless of texture and conditions when wearing a weave.

To take care of the hair underneath, you can use a scalp conditioner to maintain the natural mane. It adds a lot of moisture into the scalp and doesn’t allow the scalp to dry and protects the hair from breaking.

You can also massage your scalp with the best and exceptional oil or treatment recommended by your hair dresser.

The length of time you should wear a weave depends on the texture of your hair and how easily it will matte and tangle underneath the weave after shampooing and conditioning. Usually, weaves should only be left in for 4-6 weeks depending on the weaving or styling method.
Selecting a weave:
If you are doing a partial weave always choose a weave texture that is closest to your hair type that will blend without having to over-style your hair too severely to match texture.

Find a sensitive weave specialist with experience to sew the weave into a loosely braided section. This will help to avoid unnecessary damage from the stitching the trucks on with excessive tension.

You want to leave room for growth. It has to be properly braided, but not to tight, but firm. The weave should not be too tight because there needs to be room for new growth.

Do: Communicate with your stylist, in order to convey what you want to achieve/ what you would like your overall look to be.

Do: Visit your stylist for hair maintenance, every week or so for a shampoo and conditioning treatment. Also come in to get your weave tightened.

Don’t: Put too much oil directly on the weave. The oil can weigh the hair down, which could ruin the style.

Don’t: leave your weave in too long. A good weave should last you at least two and half to three months. You do not want to keep it any longer than this, because you don’t want to have the problem of [hair] dreading- because your hair is actually braided up under the weave.

DO: Let it Flow a weave doesn’t have to look like one. The key to a natural-looking weave is choosing the right texture and not adding too many tracks (this makes the weave appear bulky).

<![endif]--> Do: Consider wigs as a style option. If you are between styles or having hair problems, wigs are very good styling options. However

Don’t: Just grab the first wig you see at the supermarket or beauty store. Ask your stylist for a consultation, and then you can order from our range of wigs at Darling Assorted Wigs

Do: Maintain the wig’s style at night. You can do this by, removing the wig and placing it on a wig block or mannequin head to help it keep its shape. Also wrap up your hair at night; tie it up in a silk or satin or silk scarf, this will help your natural hair keep its moisture.

Don’t: Use heat styling tools on a synthetic wig. The style is already there so there is no need, to try n style it.

Don’t: Ignore your hair underneath the wig. You need to keep your hair shampooed and conditioned. It is advisable to shampoo every one or two weeks if you are wearing the wig daily. You should also apply conditioning treatment every time you shampoo to keep in moisture.

Don’t: Think you wig will last forever. You should change your wigs every two to six months if you’re wearing it every day. You can always order from our E-Shop Darling Assorted Wigs or Lace Front wigs
